...Bo Short
This past weekend I was speaking for a large group of entrepreneurs for a company in which I am honored to serve as one of its three Founding Partners. I felt compelled to discuss with them what I would like to share with you.
Regardless of your party affiliation, our nation is facing one of its great economic challenges. Worse, I believe we are facing a crisis of trust. In many instances the very people that we have elected to serve us, on both sides of the aisle, are oftentimes serving themselves first.
As we recite the history of this nation we constantly remark about the diligence and concern our Founding Fathers painstakingly used to shape this nation. We always remind ourselves how they faced great challenges and were willing to overcome them in spite of their own personal safety. Their vision and perseverance created a nation, that today, maintains the oldest written constitution in continuous operation in the world. We speak about our parent's, parent's, parent's, parents, with such reverence and respect because we have been able to live a life unlike any other population in the world...because of their actions.
The question becomes; what will our children's children say about us? In a moving letter that George Washington wrote to George Mason, he said, "Where are our men of abilities, why have they not come forth to save their country?"
As a patriot and entrepreneur I would respectfully challenge each and every one of us to step forth and be significant. Our nation needs us. Those of you that are industrious and forward-thinking are a light in an ever-darkening room. As my grandmother used to tell me..."Measure up. Live up to your potential. Do something great with you life." Now is the time.
Men and Women of abilities...come forth and save your country.
